Abstract:
Objectives Study the spatial distribution characteristics of forest parks in Hubei Province to provide strong scientific support and theoretical reference for the optimization of spatial layout and rational utilization of resources in Hubei's forest parks. The study willpromote the healthy and sustainable development of forest parks in Hubei, contribute to the construction of ecological civilization, and provide a useful reference for the study of spatial distribution characteristics of other nature reserves.
Methods A comprehensive analysis of the spatial distribution types, balance, density, and scale of forest parks in Hubei Province was conducted using ArcGIS 10.8 software and various methods, including the nearest neighbor index, Thiessen polygon coefficient of variation, Gini coefficient, geographic concentration index, kernel density index, and scale index.
Results The spatial layout of the forest parks in Hubei Province exhibited the following significant characteristics: (1) The agglomeration pattern was significant and the agglomeration effect was obvious. (2) The degree of centralization was high, while the distribution was comparatively imbalanced. (3) The distribution exhibited an uneven pattern of "local agglomeration and other dispersion". (4) There were significant variations in scale among different regions.
Conclusions The spatial layout of forest parks in Hubei Province should be further optimized to promote balanced regional development and strengthen the agglomeration effect of forest parks in the southeastern area, creating distinctive tourism brands.
