Abstract:
China is extremely rich in wildlife resources. At present, in order to protect wildlife, China has adopted in situ conservation in natural reserves and ex situ conservation in city zoos, wildlife parks, and breeding bases. With the development of in situ conservation in a nature reserves system centering on national parks and ex situ conservation in the national botanical garden, to achieve the overall goal of protecting numerous wildlife resources and the strategic deployment of biodiversity conservation in the new era, as well as solve the problem of managing wildlife, China has the necessity of establishing the national zoological park. By analyzing and studying the construction status of foreign national zoological parks, the protection of biodiversity in China, and the development of local zoos, this paper defined the significance, positioning, and construction ideas of the national zoological park for exploring the new era of animal protection and construction in China and realizing the full coverage of biodiversity protection.
