Abstract:
Birds are the most active and striking animals in wetlands, which depend on wetland habitat and reflect the habitat changes. Bird composition and diversity are important indicators of monitoring and evaluation in wetland conservation and restoration. Beijing Hanshiqiao Wetland Municipal Nature Reserve is located at the important channel for bird migration in North China. As one of the most valuable stopovers for avian migration, it has significant monitoring value. Based on the monitoring data from 2005 to 2021, referring to the Chinese Bird Classification and Distribution List (Third Edition), we found that there were 221 species of birds in Beijing Hanshiqiao Wetland Nature Reserve, belonging to 51 families and 18 orders. Compared with 153 birds in 2005, an increase of 68 birds (44.4%) in 2021 was found. According to the National List of Key Protected Wild Animals and the Beijing List of Key Protected Wild Animals, 137 species of protected birds were counted, accounting for 60.5% in total. Among them, there were 9 species of national level I protected birds, 33 species of national Class-A protected birds, 11 species of municipal Class-A protected birds, and 84 species of municipal Class-B protected birds. With high bird diversity, Hanshiqiao Wetland Nature Reserve is an important habitat for birds, which is of great significance for avian survive, breeding and migration. The conservation should be strengthened and the protection countermeasures should also be improved.
